Rajithri Dilru Habarakada is the Biobank Scientific Lead for Monash Children’s Cancer Biobank at the Monash Children’s Hospital Cancer Centre, where she oversees the collection, management, and optimisation of vital research samples to advance childhood cancer research.

Dilru’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Victoria University, providing a strong foundation in medical science and advanced laboratory skills. She broadened her expertise with a degree in Psychological Science from Deakin University, driven by a passion for understanding human behaviour. Her commitment to improving cancer outcomes led her to the University of Melbourne, where she completed a Master’s in Cancer Science, specialising in cancer care, research, and education.

During her career, Dilru has built a diverse portfolio of technical skills and experience. She began in clinical pathology, supporting diagnostic testing and standard clinical care for disorders of the blood and bone marrow. She then worked at Monash Health as a Medical Scientist in adult cancer biobanking, and later as a Biobank Specialist and Project Manager for the Next Generation Precision Medicine Program at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research.
