
Chris Williams is a Nurse Consultant with the Victorian Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service (PICS), based at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. Chris obtained his Master of Advanced Nursing Practice (Research) through the University of Melbourne.
Chris is responsible for several portfolios, including the PICS Regional Outreach Shared Care Program, a formal program supporting the shared care of children with cancer between the RCH and Monash Children’s Hospital and nine regional partners across Victoria. He also leads quality improvement projects in paediatric cancer care, including the development of statewide and national service capability frameworks and optimal care pathways in child, adolescent and young adult cancer care. Chris is heavily involved in multidisciplinary paediatric oncology education development and delivery across Victoria, Tasmania and online, and serves on the nursing sub-group of the Australian and New Zealand Children’s Haematology Oncology Group. He currently has appointments with Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre where he is co-investigator on research projects that focus on the experience of care, healthcare transitions and implementation science. Chris is also a course coordinator with the University of Melbourne’s Master of Cancer Sciences Graduate Program.
