Tayla Stenta is a researcher at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute with a background in stem cell disease modelling and a current focus on pharmacogenomics in paediatric oncology. After completing her Bachelor’s degree at North Carolina State University, she undertook her honours year at the University of Melbourne, investigating the genetic basis of skeletal dysplasias using induced pluripotent stem cells at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in 2019. Since then, she has transitioned to the Cancer Therapies team led by A/Prof Rachel Conyers, where she works on real-time implementation of pharmacogenomic testing to reduce treatment-related toxicities in children with cancer.
