Dr Elanor Wainwright

BSc(Hons) PhD

Dr Elanor Wainwright is the Senior Research Associate in the Cancer Epigenetics Laboratory at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She leads research projects focused on paediatric and adult haemopoietic stem cell transplantation and leukaemia. She has a long-standing interest in research on childhood disease, starting with uncovering the molecular and cellular basis of a number of congenital anomalies of the urinary and genital system in her PhD. Her research utilises advanced lineage tracing and single-cell approaches in haemopoietic stem cells to discover which are the best cells to transplant and rapidly make T-cells. Dr Wainwright’s oral presentation of this work at the 2023 International Society of Haematology meeting in New York was awarded the Christa Muller-Sieburg Award.
