Creating a future where every child with cancer can survive and thrive

We’re improving outcomes for our youngest cancer patients by accelerating research, innovation and collaboration.

Children’s Cancer CoLab

Every child deserves a bright future beyond cancer

Three Australian children die every week from cancer, and 80% of children who survive cancer have long-term effects from their treatment.

Children's Cancer CoLab is an independent non-profit transforming how childhood cancer research is funded and delivered in Australia. We unite government, philanthropy, researchers, clinicians, advocates, survivors and families to accelerate the research discoveries that matter.

Through scientific rigour, cross-sector collaboration, and lived experience engagement, we're building a future where every child and adolescent with cancer can survive and thrive.

Major Partners

Through the commitment of our major partners - the Victorian Government and Children's Cancer Foundation - we're supporting the most critical challenges in childhood cancer, from developing safer treatments with fewer toxicities to supporting patients to live long and healthy lives.

United call for survivorship to be a core part of every cancer care plan, roadmap and research agenda.

Survivorship Position Statement

Surviving cancer is not enough

Children's Cancer CoLab and more than 20 leading Australian organisations across health, research and advocacy are calling for greater awareness, effort and investment for the youngest cancer survivors.

Collaboration is the only way to fast-track progress in childhood cancer research.

Collective impact

We’re uniting partners across government, philanthropy, researchers, clinicians, advocates, survivors and families to accelerate breakthrough discoveries and create a future where every child with cancer can survive and thrive.

Guided by scientific rigour

Our independent Scientific Advisory Committee includes national and international experts who rigorously assess all research proposals to ensure that only the most impactful projects receive Children’s Cancer CoLab funding.

Lived experience perspectives

Survivors and families guide our work, ensuring the research we fund addresses real needs and delivers meaningful impact. They review grant applications, contribute to our advocacy efforts, and help shape ourpriorities.

Bold approach to funding

Our bold, collaborative approach to research funding is designed to incentivise partnership across institutions, disciplines and sectors, de-risk early-stage ideas, and focus resources where they will have the greatest impact.
