Dr Shane Patella

BSc (Hons) PhD GAICD

Shane’s daughter was diagnosed with a low-grade glioma at age seven and is now post-treatment, with her care managed at The Royal Children’s Hospital. Drawing on extensive experience in medical research and innovative therapies from roles in academia and the pharmaceutical industry, Shane combines professional expertise with personal experience to meaningfully contribute to better patient outcomes, particularly for children with rare cancers.

Shane is passionate about innovation, equity in health care access, and improving outcomes for patients and families through education and advocacy.
