Prof Dr Martha Grootenhuis

Prof Dr Martha Grootenhuis is a leading expert in paediatric psycho-oncology with over three decades of experience. She held professorships at the University of Amsterdam (2011–2021) and Utrecht University (from 2019), and currently leads the Psycho-Oncology Research Program at the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in the Netherlands. She developed the KLIK PROM portal and directs the PROM Core Facility. Her research focuses on the (neuro)psychosocial effects of childhood cancer, including stress, depression, and quality of life, using innovative digital tools for early screening and intervention. She has supervised over 40 PhD candidates and co-authored 300+ publications. She served as Chair and founder of SIOP’s Pediatric Psycho-Oncology Committee (2007–2022) and received the Wolter Goeman Award and an honorary doctorate from the University of Lucerne.
