
Dr Kaveh Baghaei is a Research Fellow in the Pharmacology Department at Monash University. He received his PhD in Cellular Physiology from Bochum University in Germany in 2013 and continued his research there as a postdoctoral fellow, focusing primarily on the deorphanisation of olfactory receptors. He further pursued his interest in cell biology as a Senior Researcher at the Research Institute for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases in Tehran, Iran.
Throughout his career, Dr Baghaei has conducted research in various laboratories, with a focus on cancer cell biology, the tumour microenvironment, cytokine signalling, and liver fibrosis. His work has encompassed diverse therapeutic approaches and translational medicine, including drug repurposing studies using both in vitro and in vivo platforms.
He also worked as a Research Fellow at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia, where he applied genome editing techniques in cancer organoid and in vivo cancer models.
